It is with great pleasure that UGSM-Monarch Business School announces the appointment of Dr. Parag Kulkarni, D.Sc., Ph.D., to the faculty. Dr. Parag Kulkarni is a senior research professor and professional in the areas of Knowledge Management and IT Strategy. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India. He also holds a Masters Certification in Business Strategies and Leadership from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta. Dr. Kulkarni also holds Master and Bachelor degrees in technology from the GS Institute of Technology and Science and Walchand College of Engineering. In 2010, Dr. Kulkarni earned a Doctor of Science from UGSM-Monarch Business School in the area of Knowledge Management.
Dr. Kulkarni is an active researcher having held the position of Chief Researcher/Scientist at a number of professional firms where he has been responsible for the development of numerous patents as well as being responsible for the supervision and mentoring of many doctoral students within the fields of engineering and computer science. During his professional career Dr. Kulkarni has also remained an active academic having held posts and positions within well known institutions in India, including: The Indian Institute of Management and Pune University. Dr. Kulkarni is also an accomplished author with two books published within the fields of KM and IT along with three others awaiting press.
Dr. Kulkarni’s research interest revolve around the topics of: Advanced Machine Learning, Knowledge Management and Its Machine Learning Aspects, IT Strategy and Business Strategy, Systemic Theories, Data and Text Mining and Document Mining. Dr. Kulkarni has extensive experience in the real-world application of computer science, knowledge management, IT Strategy and the competitive positioning of the enterprise within the larger business environment context. Dr. Kulkarni’s dual focus of academics integrating fully into the business context is a reflection of the focus maintained at UGSM-Monarch Business School and we are confident that his association with the University will be a productive one.
